The Power of Prayer

As we continue delving into the Book of Acts, and focus in particular today on the power of Prayer, we see that chapter 4, verse 31 tells us how God encountered His people that day. ‘They were shaken. They were filled with the Holy Spirit. They spoke the Word of God boldly’.

Just like the New Testament Church, we too, can experience the amazing Presence of the living God! We need to pray expectantly, to seek God earnestly with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

How is your prayer habit? Personally and corporately? We need to pray with others as a habit, either in a home group or prayer cell, as well as alone with our God. There is real power in praying together, and a renewed Presence of Jesus ‘in the midst’, when we pray with others. We pray with boldness, with a life full of faith, seeking God for our daily needs.

When we come to God like this, get ready to encounter God’s Presence! As we lay aside our agenda and preconceived ideas, when we acknowledge we really just need Jesus, we too, can be empowered, filled with the Holy Spirit and become bold in our witness.

Let it be, dear Lord!
