Last night at the Bridge of Hope - Child Support - Fundraiser Soup Social held in the Church Hall, these were some of the pictures etched in our hearts as we learned more of the 300 million Dalits living in the slums of India, regarded as the lowest caste.

There are so many beautiful families living in abject poverty, and yet their hopelessness is being transformed to hope as Gospel for Asia brings love through the Gospel and opportunities for children to go to school, making them the first generation of Dalit ‘readers’.

The evening of simple fun around the tables with competitions, as well as an informative DVD & slides, concluded with a meal of home-cooked soups and bread, followed by coffee & tea with various slices. Just on $1,000 was raised to help support our sponsored girls Annamika & Bashi, for which we truly praise God.

There was also time spent as folk at each table joined to write a letter to our two girls.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Special thanks to Lynne & Keith & all their helpers who made this such a memorable experience for all who attended.
