Vale Lyall Muller

Lyall Muller came to Bribie Island Church of Christ as Interim Pastor, with his wife Jill, early in 2022 and the congregation immediately warmed to them both. People saw him as a true ‘man of God’ and a person of spiritual integrity. He was a leader whom the congregation were prepared to follow because he treated everyone with respect and listened to people.

People in the church appreciated a number of things about Lyall and his preaching style was one of those things. He always gave practical teaching, leaving people to ponder a challenging question or two about daily living. Lyall clearly loved Jesus and this was evident in his pastoral concern, his preaching, his personal contact with the broader community, and his and Jill’s hospitality in their home. Lyall was a man of prayer, working with our prayer coordinator and encouraging the congregation to meet regularly for prayer.

Lyall, with Jill’s able assistance, brought the church Board together for a number of workshops which helped the leadership to find a direction forward and to set a path which the church continues on today.

More recently the church voted to change Lyall’s title from Interim Pastor to Pastor. This opened up opportunities to explore new ministries in the community.

The congregation developed spiritually and numerically during Lyall’s short time in ministry with us, and our membership grew by more than 30%.

Our church will miss Lyall so much. We all loved him, respected him and were impacted by his infectious love for Jesus. We have lost a strong spiritual leader who loved Jesus and Papa God has gained another eternal soul abiding with Him in heaven.
