To the uttermost parts of the earth

As today we continue in the Book of Acts, we consider the great outline which our Lord Jesus gave of the progress of the Gospel throughout the course of this age. He said it would move in three stages: First to Jerusalem, then to Judea and all Samaria, and then to the uttermost parts of the earth. Now, in Acts 9, we are viewing that second stage wherein the Gospel is going out to Judea and all Samaria. During that period of time the Gospel was being systematically preached throughout every village of Samaria and Judea, as we read.

But also the Lord was preparing the instrument by which the Gospel would reach out in the third stage, which is the stage in which we are involved, that of reaching out to the uttermost parts of the earth.

On Friday last as the ladies of the Craft & Friendship Group gathered together all they had made and packed up for the 2013 Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Child Appeal, Pastor Roger led a time of dedication, blessing and prayer for the sending of these gifts to children in some of the uttermost parts of the earth, sharing the love of Jesus. Also included were tiny sets of knitted garments to be sent to the Mater Mothers’ and other Maternity hospitals, for premature babies. We praise God and pray a special blessing on all those involved in this loving outreach…… both givers and receivers.
